Owing to his unique ability, he sets out to learn martial arts and then begins hunt down muggers, with an aim to become a household superhero.
Young Surya is born with a strange physical condition under very tragic circumstances. He is diagnosed with a very unique and rare medical condition called Congenital insensitivity to pain and is tended to by an extra odd combo of his father and his mischievous grandfather referred to as Ajoba.
While his school life is difficult as he is the boy who doesn't get hurt and is always picked on by the bullies, Surya somehow finds an unlikely ally in his neighbour named Supri. When at home, Surya learns to cater to his own wounds that don’t give him pain and then binges for a large time on martial arts films tapes, with all thanks to his grandfather's unique tutelage.
The one special tape that always mesmerizes young Surya is about 100-man karate kumite that is fought by a mysterious one-legged man called The Karate Mani. With budding enthusiasm to do something right in the society, Surya’s first foray into vigilantism is to come to the aid of his ally Supri, against her abusive father, but that entire event leads to the family being evicted from the building that was the only shelter to their family and Surya and Supri get estranged as children.
Their ways get separate with each one finding purpose and mentorship in unusual circumstances of their own. Ajoba encourages Surya to pursue his hidden passion secretly & Surya trains himself by watching more and more of VHS videos. At the same time, Supri gets fully trained by The Karate Mani whom she meets when she accidentally bumps into his scooter.
